Scott Kelby’s Second Annual Worldwide Photowalk
Since last year’s photowalk was such a huge success and a whole lot of fun, I signed up for the Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk again this year. Our group “photowalked” in Golden last year, so I was really excited to have this year’s walk take place in Lower Downtown (“LoDo”) Denver.
Our walk was packed full with 50 “photography friends”, but that’s 50 photographers out of some 32,000+ worldwide that participated in this year’s event. (I heard there were two other Worldwide Photowalk groups of 50 also walking around Downtown Denver too.)
My group met at 7:45am next to the flagship REI building near 20th and Platte in downtown Denver to start the day. The entire route took us a little over 3 miles, weaving around the Platte River/Cherry Creek area, over to Larimer Square, then up to the 16th Street Mall and the May D&F Tower. From there we ventured down 18th Street back towards Blake (near Coors Field, home of the Rockies) and over to Union Station. Through the train station and out over the foot bridge to the frontage street to follow the Platte River back to Confluence Park and REI to complete our loop.
Without further ado, you’ll find a small gallery below, culled from the 800+ images I took over the course of the walk, along with a link to the official Flickr Group page for all 32,000+ photographers from around the world. Good times were had by all!
