A Few More Images – 2005’s Fall Colors
Digging around my stock of imagery for this year’s portfolio album, I came across some images from 2005’s Fall Colors excursion that I felt deserved to be shared and showcased in this year’s portfolio set.In 2005, Steve Parker and I set off for the San Juan’s in Southwest Colorado, in and around the town of Ridgway. We hit the Last Dollar Road, Roads 5, 7 and 9, the latter of which runs right through Ralph Laurens’ Double-RL ranch–one of the most spectacular places in all of Colorado. We also hit Cimmaron Pass and Owl Creek Pass and the town of Ouray. We hit Sneffels and the Dallas Divide areas during this trip too. In fact, the four images below are from the Dallas Divide and Owl Creek Pass. And as our luck runs, we were extremely fortunate with the weather. More so than in 2007, that’s for sure! So, enjoy.

Hanging on to Their Glory
Spent this past weekend down near the San Juan Mountains near Lake City, Colorado. The Aspens were well past their prime, but a good photographic outing nevertheless. I like the image below in that it shows the final phase of the fall colors here in beautiful Colorado. Even these few aspens are desperately trying to hold on to their fall glory, before the winter onslaught arrives.
This is definitely one place I need to head back to in the coming fall seasons. Lots of aspen groves and not many people–just the way I like to shoot.
